Resident Engineer


A minimum of five years of experience with IDOT, Tollway and/or CDOT projects is required.


The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience. Required skills include good communication, the ability to prepare written progress and other special reports, the ability to implement construction safety, organizational skills and attention to detail.


PE licensure and additional training in IDOT Documentation of Quantities or RE Materials Training is preferred.

 

Additionally, candidates should have considerable knowledge of civil engineering principles and techniques with reference to construction management, construction materials, methods and procedures; the ability to maintain field and office records; the ability to direct field inspection / support staff; the ability to ensure proper application of plans and specifications; the ability to review contractor pay estimates and submittals; the ability to deal effectively with people, as well as any other duties that may be assigned.


Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills are required.

Senior Construction Engineer

Junior Construction Inspector


A minimum of one year of experience with IDOT, Tollway and/or CDOT projects is required.


Candidates should have an Associates degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience), though a Bachelor's is preferredor. In addition, candidates should have considerable knowledge of construction materials, methods and procedures; the ability to maintain field and office records; the ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations; the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and the ability to deal effectively with others.


Additional training in IDOT Documentation of Quantities, Hot Mix Asphalt Level I/II or Portland Cement Concrete Level I/II is preferred.


Required skills include good communication, the ability to implement work per plans and specifications, the ability to prepare inspection reports and document quantities. In addition, basic computer and Microsoft Office skills are required.

Junior Accounting/Administrative Generalist

 

Basic responsibilities of the position include preparing payroll date, processing bi-weekly payroll, preparing monthly invoices, book keeping and reconciling bank statements. The generalist will also be expected to assist in recuriting, reviewing resumes, screening phone calls, assisting in the candidate selection process and maintaining employee relationships.

 

Overall, the Accounting/Administrative Generalist must be an integral and indispensable part of the office. They may also be asked to represent the company at project meetings, industry conventions and career fairs. Responsibilities also include various administrative tasks including scheduling, processing invoices, drafting proposals, reviewing contracts and maintaining necessary filing systems. Strong writing skills are required.

 

Requirements

  • Adequate knowledge of, and comfortable using, the entire Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, et al)

  • Accuracy, reliability and attention to detail

  • Ability to deal effectively with employees, vendors and clients

  • Possess strong management and follow-through skills

Recommended
